Losing It!

Yesterday I decided that I am sick and tired of being overweight. I used to weigh 50 lbs less than I do now and yes some of it is from having a baby but I think it is about time to start getting back into shape. (My son is almost 2 years old now)

I'm going to try to eat better and work out more but my goal is to lose 42 lbs. So wish me luck!

Cinco De Mayo!

3 years ago today I married the love of my life David. Yep we didn't plan to get married on the same day as Cinco De Mayo but we did. ( it makes it easier to remember what day our anniversary is)

It is hard to believe that it has already been 3 years. We have a great 18 month old and dog named Bailey. Wow time flies by!

Have a great Cinco De Mayo!

Angel Light Giveaway

Today I am featuring my first giveaway and I am so excited!

Angel Light is a homemade soybean wax candle company in business since 2004. Their candles are made with great care to ensure safety, efficient burning and a beautiful appearance!

Each candle is hand poured and made of 100% soybean wax, a vegetable based additive to appearance, Eco friendly dyes and vegetable wax coated wicks. They promote the use of renewable resources like soybean wax and oil as an alternative to paraffin wax and mineral oil.

Let me give you a little information about soy candles:

  • they burn clean with little or no soot

  • are non-toxic biodegradable

  • environmentally safe

  • longer burning than paraffin

  • excellent cold and hot scent throw

  • made from soybeans grown in the USA

  • lead free wicks

Angel Light offers many unique products such as a 20 oz Morgan jar candle, soy hand and body lotion and whipped Shea body butter. And so many more options!

There are so many different and unique scents for the candles (the scents are not available for the body products). Scents like Tranquil Sleep and Carrot Cake are just 2 of the many different scents.

These are the categories of scents: (And these are just the beginning!)

  • Yankee

  • Bath & Body Works

  • Victoria's Secret

  • Christmas Scents

  • Fall Scents

  • Spring Scents

  • Other Scents

    I heart Paula Deen!

I have 2 words for you. . . Cherry Cheesecake! Today is National Cherry Cheesecake day.

This is a new theme I am starting with my blog. I will be commenting every day with what national food day it is. I hope you enjoy it!

Today in honor of the Cherry Cheesecake I am posting a recipe from Paula Deen:

    Prep Time: 15 min
    Cook Time: 20 min
    Serves: 12 tarts

    - 2(8 ounce)packages cream cheese, softened
    - 1 cup sugar
    - 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
    - 2 eggs
    - 12 vanilla wafers
    - 1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling or other pie filling

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Place a paper cupcake liner in each cup of muffin pan. Beat cream cheese with a handheld electric mixer until fluffy. Add sugar and vanilla, beating well. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Lay a vanilla wafer flat side down in each muffin cup. Spoon cream cheese mixture over wafers. Bake for 20 minutes. Allow tarts to cool completely. Serve with cherry filling on top, or pie filling of your choice.

Where to find the recipe on-line:

    I hope you enjoy!

    A Blast from the Past

Recently I have fallen back in love with something from my past.

It is the new and limited Throwback Pepsi. I don't remember the taste of Pepsi changing when they stopped using the real sugar but I have fallen in love with this pop.

I know you might be thinking that I am a sad person for loving a pop but it reminds me of my childhood and sometimes it is nice to be reminded of an easier time.

So if you haven't tried it yet you might want to.
